Today with 25 yers, the musician began his studies on the recorder at the age of six. At seven, he recorded his first CD, featuring a highly eclectic repertoire that ranged from Tom Jobim to the Beatles, as well as Dorival Caymmi and Pixinguinha. From age eleven to seventeen, he studied at EMESP Tom Jobim. He later enrolled at Souza Lima College in São Paulo, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Music in 2022.

In 2017, together with guitarist Rafael Schimidt, he released an album paying tribute to flutist Altamiro Carrilho, featuring a repertoire of Carrilho’s own compositions.

With more than seven years of professional experience, Rafael has performed in concerts with renowned artists such as Dominguinhos, Ivan Lins, and Hermeto Pascoal, in addition to sharing the stage with many instrumentalists, including the brilliant Proveta.

He has taken part in several instrumental music festivals across Brazil and performed in numerous SESC venues, including the prestigious “Instrumental Sesc Brasil” series, which resulted in a DVD now available on SESC’s official YouTube channel.
